Your teacher
England’s best-known bridge player, teacher and writer — and the author of every course taught at the club.
Andrew Robson OBE is England’s best-known bridge player, teacher and writer. In 1995 he founded the Andrew Robson Bridge Club in South West London. He wrote all the courses which many tens of thousands have taken at the club over the years, and still teaches several weekends a year here.
Andrew has written the daily bridge column for The Times for over twenty years, weekly for Country Life for thirty years, weekly for MoneyWeek for nearly twenty, and monthly for The Oldie. His acclaimed daily instruction videos — BridgeCast — cover every level of player.
He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to bridge and charity, and the same year was joint winner of Personality of the Year at the International Bridge Press Association awards. In 2018 the English Bridge Union recognised him with its Diamond Award for sustained excellence in England’s international teams.
Andrew has represented England for some thirty years. His competitive record includes the World Youth Team Championships, the European Championships, and the Gold Cup no fewer than eight times. He has written over twenty books on the game he loves — including Tips for Intermediates, The Next Level and Top Tens — and mainly teaches Acol.
Andrew is married with two daughters and lives in London. When not bridging, he loves long walks and bike rides.
